How does eye cyst removal work?
An eyelid cyst is typically removed under local anaesthesia in about 20 minutes. Before surgery, your surgeon will numb the area around your eye. The cyst will be cut or scraped away using tiny instruments. A saline solution (salt) will be used to wash the area.
An eyelid cyst can usually be removed as a day case, which means you can go home the same day.
What are the main benefits of surgery?
The main advantage is speeding up the healing process. The procedure will also correct any visual distortion caused by swelling, pressure, or repeat infections.
Will I need an overnight stay for cyst excision treatment?
